Y1 Family Reading Party

Thank you to all of our Y1 families who came to our Family Reading Party. We all had such a brilliant time!

We are pleased that you enjoyed sharing our games and learned new ideas to try at home too. The books your children brought into share were wonderful - See if you can spot your selfie!

The FAST programme

Families and Schools Together is an award-winning early intervention which brings parents, children, teachers and the wider community together, to make sure children get the support they need to fulfil their potential at school - and in life.

Here at Arbourthorne, we have run the FAST programme for 9 weeks and yesterday was our Graduation Day. This was our chance to celebrate all the successes of the parents and children and we did it in our usual Arbourthorne style. Ms Langley presented all the children with their scrolls and then welcomed all the family onto the stage to receive their certificate of achievement. Everyone felt incredibly proud of the families for their amazing achievements over the past 9 weeks. Well done everyone - a fantastic project!

Family Learning - Make me a movie

Parents and children took part in a 5 week after school course called Make me a Movie.  Check out their movies - click on the link below.

Y2 pupils visit KidZania London

Pupils from Y2 visited KidZania London on 26th November. After a long journey to London, the children were eager to enter the city for children to see what it had to offer.

The children checked in and were given 50 KidZos each to spend, however if they wanted more KidZos they had to earn them by getting a job! Fireman, policeman, midwife, DJ, courier, pilot, surgeon, beautician, dentist.... the list of opportunities was endless.

We all had the best time and arrived back at school tired but extremely happy.  When can we go again Ms Langley?
