Arbourthorne Community Primary School is approximately two miles from the centre of Sheffield. Currently there are two classes in each year group with children from ages 3-11. In addition there is a Primary Integrated Resource Unit for 12 pupils who have complex learning needs.
Parental partnerships are strong and we encourage parents and carers to take part in a variety of training opportunities in school from basic skills English and Maths courses, to supporting children with their well-being and learning. We have a flourishing PTA and a thriving Governing Body.
We were inspected in January 2012 and achieved a good standard overall with outstanding aspects.
Our results have improved rapidly over time and 2015 has seen our pupils achieve the highest results in the history of the school. This has been achieved through excellent home-school partnerships, high quality teaching and learning and a determination from all partners to ensure pupils leave the school having achieved their full potential.
Arbourthorne Community Primary is a very welcoming school and visitors are encouraged to use our ‘open door’ policy. We have a designated community room which is open every day to all parents and carers.
