Cool to be Clever
We visited the University of Sheffield on the 24th February as part of the Cool to be Clever programme. Working in teams, we had to design and build a bridge made from spaghetti to see which one would hole the most weight.
Arbourthorne and Gleadless pupils worked together with their student ambassador and built the strongest bridge, holding 301 washers. Pupils were presented with medals for winning the challenge.
Professor Fluffy's Medical Adventure
On a recent visit to the University of Sheffield, the Cool to be Clever Club took part in Professor Fluffy's Medical Adventures. They spent the day learning how the brain works, all about the internal organs of the body - the heart, lungs, stomach, kidneys, and the liver. They also had to complete challenges and answer Professor Fluffy's 20 questions. Do you know how fast a sneeze is? The Cool to be Clever Club do!
