Action Stations is one of our favourite initiatives because it encourages applicants to come up with some amazing ideas that will impact their local Community! This term has been no different! Mum, Rebecca applied for an award to run a Christmas Hamper scheme to give back to her Community and make sure no family goes without this Christmas! We have been overwhelmed with donations from all of our supporters and we want to take this time to thank each and every person that has made a contribution to the Christmas Hamper Scheme this year.
“I know that 2020 has been a really hard year and that the impact of Covid-19 will be around for many years to come and that it has impacted more families than ever! I just wanted to do my bit for the Community as nobody should ever have to go hungry around Christmas. I set up this appeal to bring some extra joy to what has been an awful year to help combat food poverty.”
Rebecca, Parent Volunteer and Organiser of Christmas Hampers.
At the beginning of the year, a Year 6 pupil applied for an Action Station to buy a Buddy Bench to be placed at Arbourthorne Community Primary School. Unfortunately, we had to put this on hold due to Covid but now we are back we have plans to get the bench into the school in the New Year! The pupil wanted to buy a Buddy Bench for anyone that feels a little bit lonely at school or for anyone that wanted to make some new friends! We think this idea is lovely and we can’t wait to get the bench up in the school ready for all the children to use and enjoy!
